This viral TikTok hack recreates Hogwarts’ floating Jack-O-Lanterns using target pumpkins

Nobody does holidays like Hogwarts, and Halloween is no exception. In fact, floating Jack-O-Lanterns hanging over students enjoying a Halloween party remains one of the most iconic scenes in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” And as a viral TikTok proves, recreating that moment of magic in your own home is easier than you might think.

TikTok creator Saraa (@sareishh) recently shared a nifty DIY hack she used to recreate the floating “Harry Potter” pumpkins. To achieve the look, she bought some glow-in-the-dark Jack-O-Lanterns from Target, then punched holes in the top and hung them from the ceiling using fishing line.

The video also included footage of the hanging pumpkins both during the day and at night, casting eerie orange and yellow shadows on the ceiling. Who needs a Hogwarts Express ticket to get into the Christmas spirit?!

TikTok viewers were seriously impressed with the hack and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Wow. I have to do this. You have inspired a generation,” one person wrote.

Saraa also linked the Target pumpkins that she used to help other crafty Potterheads make their own Hogwarts Halloween decor. She used more variations of Hyde & EEK! Boutique‘s light up pumpkins. The best part? They retail for between $5 and $10, so you can complete this DIY without breaking the bank.
